Healing Properties of Green Amethyst
Prasiolite (also known as green amethyst), is a heat-treated form of amethyst. Because it closely related to both amethyst and citrine, it acts as a bridge between the solar plexus chakra (seat of the will), the heart chakra, and the third eye and crown chakras. Green Amethyst as a Gemstone
Prasiolite (more commonly known as “green amethyst”) is a pale green form of quartz. There is a small amount of natural prasiolite, but almost all prasiolite on the market is artificially produced by heat-treaing amethyst. Amethyst usually turns yellow or orange, producing citrine, but with the addition of radiation, it turns green.
Technically, amethyst is by definition purple, so it doesn’t make a lot of sense to call prasiolite “green amethyst”, but the name seems to have stuck.
