Vicki Murphie

I started beading one year ago making strung pieces for family gifts. I have branched out into wire work and have got the bug big time! I love using eclectic materials in my pieces.

Denim Blues Necklace Project

Denim Blues Necklace

Love these big porcelain pendants–this beautiful faded edge one reminds me of faded jeans. It sits well with some simple lampwork beads and a chunky chain. I wire wrapped the opaque indigo glass lampwork beads and combined them with a steel textured oval chain, metallic seed beads, a textured porcelain pendant, and a hook closure.

China Plate Bracelet Project

China Plate Bracelet

This charm bracelet reminds me of those beautiful blue and white China plates, the ones with the images of arched bridges, gardens and Willow trees. The bracelet consists of porcelain charms, lampwork beads, crazy blue and white striped Czech seed beads, rounded chunky brass chain, aged brass charms, and a toggle closure in hammered brass.

Brass Circles Necklace Project

Brass Circles Necklace

Bedrock Bracelet Project

Bedrock Bracelet

Mae Necklace With Chrysocalla and Malachite Project

Mae Necklace With Chrysocalla and Malachite

A strung piece made for my Chinese Malaysian mother-in-law for Christmas 08, this necklace incorporates Thai Silver seed pod beads and toggle, chrysocalla, and malachite chips. The Thai silver components were temporarily stranded in the Bangkok turmoil as the Christmas deadline loomed, so this one is fresh off the beading board – I hope my […]

Earthy Charm Necklace Project

Earthy Charm Necklace

This piece was made as a commission for a colleague’s mother – the brief was that she has a young and carefree spirit and loves greens and browns. Materials include antique brass Vintaj pieces, unakite, moonstone, Czech and Indian glass and Swarovksi crystals and pearls, all combined with a gorgeous antique brass chain.
