For this necklace I started with a serpentine (new jade) cabochon and put it under a large antique brass hoop. I used a piece of oxidized brass filigree as backing to hold it in place. For accent beads I used a few smaller matching serpentine jade beads and some flat oval beads made of frosted glass, along with brass beadcaps and brass chain.
