Most of my inspiration comes from nature and the environment that I live in. I live on the north coast of British Columbia Canada in a small port/fishing town.
When I came across the wire mesh in the teal color I instantly thought of fishing nets capturing the sealife in its path.
This is my interpretation of that image in the form of a summer necklace, which I think can go from casual to elegant.
I have used a variety of beads including Mother of Pearl in white rounds and teal freeform frangia, pink coral and shell shaped metal beads. On the wire mesh I threaded small teal glass beads to represent the old glass floats that can still be found sometimes on the shore. The pendant is a very large Swarovski crystal starfish. I was quite proud of myself when I saw the finished product.
