Bead Embroidery Necklace Beading Ideas
This jewellery piece is made from a special authentic fabric that is usually used for scarves in Anatolia. Flowers are very important in this fabric and also symbolise the relationship between nature and women. The necklace and the bracelet are made from 2 layers of fabric and in between there is thin fiber. After the […]
The cabochon I used was my inspiration for the entire bead embroidery necklace. I used Swarovski crystals, beads and pearls. The freshwater pearls and shells I found on the beaches during holiday. The back is finished with ultra suede. The clasp is also my own design and made with a Swarovski rivoli, O-beads etc.
This is my entry “Burlesque Butterfly” for the Challenge of Beaders United. The theme was Wings. I had this butterfly for some time, and the idea of attaching it to leather was already in my head. Initially I wanted the butterfly just surrounded by beads, but that is not me, I ended up covering a […]
This embroidery necklace is made with cat-eye cabochons, fresh water pearls, Swarovski crystals, and 11/0, 6/0 seed beads. Covered with leather….no toggle. Attached to a spiral rope necklace. I enjoyed making this necklace and it’s going to be hard to let it go. I love all my pieces but this one is my baby!
I used pearls in diferent sizes, fish scales, mother of pearl, antique beads, and antique swade leaves. I embroidered all of this onto an antique piece of material. In the back I used a fine piece of bronze in the same shape, covered by grey velvet, and used some memory wire inside to help keep […]
I made this Seahorse necklace for a contest in the Netherlands with a Fantasty theme. Its partly beaded on stiff stuff, with ultra-suede on the back. I used a lot of miuyki rocailles in different sizes, vintage brass flowers and freshwaterpearls. On the left side are the waves of the water, the right side are […]
This necklace represents my love of the ocean and the beach. It began with a handmade lampwork cabochon which I surrounded with several colors of seed beads, glass pearls and Swarovski crystals. The upper part of the necklace is sky blue jade and the fringe is a gathering of freshwater Biwa pearls, glass pearls, Swarovski […]
A beautiful goddess in pinks and copper. I embroidered her with copper iris colored glass beads, with bits and pieces from other jewelry parts for her crown which has a fabric pink flower rosette and mother of pearl. Inside is black felt and back is black leather. The same coordinating beads around the edges. Pink […]
The centerpieces of this necklace are Tazwood cherry burl cabochons with subtle inlays of turquoise. They inspired me to create Autumn Splendor. I first beaded around the cabochons, and then with a netting technique and embroidery, blended two sizes of wooden round beads, six colors of seed beads in three different sizes, as well as […]
Bead embroidered cuff and necklace made from rough opals (polished by myself), charoite, amethyst, pearls, swarovski, silver beads, rainbow moonstone beads, purple jade, violet glass beads (roses) and Miyuki Delicas. For the base I used Lacy’s Stiff Stuff and a blank brass collar and cuff. To make this whole set, including polishing the opals, takes […]
This necklace contains Czech cristals, velvet for the cordon, and size 11 and 15 seed beads. I added seed bead fringe with nylon thread to the velvet for the neck side cordon. For the main part I used eyepins which I ran through chain to form the structure. I used beading glue to affix the […]
Dragonfly Billabong is a representation of the centrality of water in Australia, a country where droughts feature often with a few “good” years thrown in between in order to make us forget. I used Lacy’s Stiff Stuff as the foundation. I dyed the white foundation with permanent black dye powder mixed into water and let […]
In Anatolian tradition girls organize a party before getting married. It is traditional to sing very sad songs to make the bride cry before she leaves her family and goes to her husband. In this ceremony usually the bride wears 2 or 3 dresses and changes the jewellery. This is one of them.
I started by gluing the white resin rose to the leather, and then embroidered around it with white seed beads, crystals and pearls. I backed the creation with camel-colored leather. The necklace is strung with white beads of stone and resin as well as crystals of different sizes. It is about 20″ long.
