The centerpieces of this necklace are Tazwood cherry burl cabochons with subtle inlays of turquoise. They inspired me to create Autumn Splendor. I first beaded around the cabochons, and then with a netting technique and embroidery, blended two sizes of wooden round beads, six colors of seed beads in three different sizes, as well as bugle beads and dyed cultured pearls. A brass toggle clasp seemed to be the perfect closure to my necklace.
Because it uses wood rather than stone, Autumn Splendor necklace is a light piece.
