This piece began as a large bag of amethyst tumbled chips which needed to be used up.
I had plenty of fishing line, three-tier spacer bars and a normal clasp so I played around to see what I could come up with.
My design was based on inspiration from my mother as her birthstone is amethyst, so I wanted to make something special for her.
I started by stringing three lengths of fishing line by a crimp bead tip then adding some Swarovski crystals. I then started to string on the amethyst pieces and add a spacer and spacer bar (this part was tedious having to keep hold of the other two strings and also keeping the strings even).
After an hour or two, the choker was finished and I moved on to make matching earrings and bracelet using silver plated ear hooks and clasps.
The final piece ended up looking stunning.
great idea and beautiful
