I like to recycle everything, including my beads. To make this necklace I re-used turquoise chips from a pair of flip-flops. I worked with two different lengths of bead stringing wire. On the longer part of this necklace I alternated the turquoise chips with glass seed beads. After several different trials I decided to use less turquoise and more seed beads on the shorter string.
After I finished this necklace I decided to adorn it with a simple pendant that I made from a glass turquoise-colored pearl, sterling silver head pin and a few complimenting beads. It gave it a different dimension.
Two rows of turquoise chips can be a little bit rough on the neck and that is why I used only seed beads finished with a silver toggle clasp on the back part of the necklace. It is 13.5″ long.
