This piece was inspired by a very special person. Recently, I was honored to be present at a local church to witness a performance by the African Children’s Choir. The choir director, a striking woman and former member who has since earned a degree in design, participated throughout the moving concert.
Though I was far removed from the stage, I was struck by the beauty of everything about her, especially her jewelry. This piece is my own version, a tribute to a person who does extraordinary work with very special children.
The necklace consists of chunky, flat wood discs paired with large, chunky mother of pearl chips. The center pieces are three tumbled light blue onyx stones.
Measures 19″ at first tier. Beautiful, intricate toggle clasp with additional 3″ toggle extension.
