The poppies have been glorious this year and those sudden flashes of red amongst the green in the countryside, and the lovely focal bead by Ciel Creations inspired me to make this necklace.
The basic stitch is spiral weave, using lots of Czech leaf and flower beads as well as a few firepolish crystals.
I wove the clasp in a peyote stitch, but used my own freeform variation to get the look I wanted. The lampwork focal was attached using a wrapped loop wire technique and the fringing was attached to a small piece of netting, woven to hide the internal loop.
